Horse-dude

Yes, she lives! I have produced the most abysmal amount of art in the last few months... my motivation has hit an all-time low, I'm sad and ashamed to admit. But anyway:
This is black and white because that's what I drew it in. I could/should have used colour, but sometimes it just confuses me and usually looks gaudy and wrong. My brain wishes it was a dog. I considered colorising this, then remembered how those old photos that they stick colours over look (like someone stuck a load of make-up on the Mona Lisa) and decided not to.
Process.
Photoshop, tablet, hard-edged brush. I did the whole thing without realising my touch sensitivity was broken! I was not a happy bunny when my brain finally woke up.
I did the background first. In a moment of rare inspiration, I started scrubbing out an image that had appeared in my mind. I got a head. It was gonna be an angel crouching. Then I drew the body. Then I drew the *horse*. These things happen. He is now a centaur!

From far away, the horse bit looks like a scorpion. And that near-back leg is *taunting* me. I did not use, but am in dire need of, a ref. Has anybody noticed how if you draw continuously from memory, previously-familiar shapes begin to warp?
