This, at long last, is my final (FINAL!!!! I finished something! 
) piece for AS level art coursework on the theme of 'Natural Forms'.
I never did quite manage to justify how exactly this related back to natural forms, the best I got was the relationship between humanity and nature; humanity's role as sustainer, corrupter, victim; its right to define itself as nature... So what is nature? Certainly not that tree-thing, that's the least tree-like thing I've ever seen. Wouldn't want to see that on a big hill at dusk.
Countless, endless, sanity-robbing hours on Photoshop Elements with my Wacom Intuos tablet (I would be lost without it), I have to admit to cheating and using a photo for the background, just because the thought of painting actual scenery terrified me pissless (I've never even *drawn* scenery before, I'm so pathetically inexperienced!) I used -stupidly- no references for the dryad, apart from a mirror for the body parts that made me want to chuck the tablet pen out of the window
Okay, my inspirations are many and obvious so I should probably write them here so nobody accuses me of things in big scary capital letters: Firstly the existance of the art nouveau-esque rings behind her is due to an obsession of mine with Alphonse Mucha, and I realise that stylistically, because of this, my picture looks similar to *blackeri's recent beyeeeeewtiful seven deadly sins series, which absolutely stunned me and I would be lying if I claim they did not influence this picture just a bit!
Okay enough babble, enjoy! Critique is welcome, I can only grow through recognising my mistakes, and I keep seeing more and more in this piece! O_O
