Okay, I drew this on my vacation in France. I was determined to finish it before my birthday so I could smirk and say: 'I drew this when I was 15'. Silly.
Anyway, I saw this image on a postcard I picked up in Lille, and *had* to draw it. It was so full of passion, I hope I got that down here, too. The original photo was taken by Rob Goldman. I used a mechanical HB pencil, a softer 5B for the dark bits (that kept on rubbing away - grrr), a putty eraser and a tortillon blending-stick-thing. I might redo his hands, they look a little rushed, but for now... enjoy!
This is very nicely done . You're right about the hands, they look a little rushed, but you did capture the emotion. There is definitely passion in this image, and you did a great job of portraying it.
Is there any more? Or did you spend your entire vacation drawing this? *hopes for more!*

The mind I love must have wild places, a tangled orchard where dark damsons drop in the heavy grass, an overgrown little wood, the chance of a snake or two, a pool that nobody's fathomed the depth of, and paths threaded with flowers planted by the mind.

The fact that no one understands you doesn't make you an artist.
